The Master in Public Management major in Development and Security (MPM DevSec) Batch 15 conducted the Public Sector Human Resource Management (PSHRMD) Module on June 27, 2020.
DAP-GSPDM Faculty Member, Dr. Ma. Oliva Z. Domingo divided her morning session on Human Resource Management (HRM) into three sub topics, which are: (1) the challenges encountered; (2) its core functions; (3) and the latest strategies and trends. The students found the lectures and examples relatable and also shared their own experiences and perceived organizational cultures on human resource management and development.
During the afternoon session, Dr. Domingo expounded the different categories of employees, their values and work-life perceptions based on the generation they belonged. After discussing the international standards, Dr. Domingo grounded the lectures to the local setting by discussing the Philippine Civil Service System. Further, she also introduced the 122 student-officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and allied countries to her own Management and Development Framework (MDF) and encouraged them to continuously enhance their organizational development and human resource management skills in order to enhance the existing capabilities of their organizations.
