The Graduate School of Public and Development Management of the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP-GSPDM) held the Graduation Rites of the Master in Productivity and Quality Management Major in Microfinance (MPQM-MF) Batch 5 on August 16, 2019 at O. D. Corpuz Hall, DAP-Pasig. Thirty-six students received the MPQM degree and one was awarded with a Certificate of Participation.

The MPQM-MF is a customized graduate program aimed at providing continuing education to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of middle-level managers of the different institutions under the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development-Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD-MRI). It is implemented by DAP-GSPDM in partnership with CARD-MRI Development Institute (CMDI), the academic arm of CARD-MRI.

Gracing the occasion as the commencement speaker was Dr. Orlando S. Mercado, former Senator of the Republic of the Philippines and DAP Eminent Fellow. Also present were Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip, DAP Eminent Fellow and Founder and Chairman of CARD-MRI; Atty. Engelbert C. Caronan, Jr., MNSA, President and CEO of DAP; Dr. Lizan E. Perante-Calina, Senior Vice President and Dean of DAP-GSPDM; Dr. Edzel A. Ramos, Executive Vice President of CMDI; Ms. Deverna dT. Briones, Vice President for Administration and Academic Affairs of CMDI; and other executives of DAP and CARD-MRI.

On the same day, DAP and CARD-MRI have agreed on the opening of MPQM-MF for the sixth batch of students during the first quarter of 2020. For this batch, slots are open for both CARD-MRI scholars and the public. Admission will begin in the last quarter of 2019.
