The DAP Graduate School of Public and Development Management received the NextGen Regional Accelerator in Local Governance Award given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) through the Local Government Academy (LGA). As described, this award aims to recognize outstanding regional partners for their remarkable contributions and their extreme potential to accelerate excellence in local governance by delivering quality programs to the LGUs.
Prior to having won the award, a double nomination was made. First, by the DILG IV-A led by Regional Director Ariel Iglesia, Assistant Regional Director Noel Bartolabac and OIC Chief Jay Beltran. The Certificate Course on Evidence-based Policy Making (CC-EBPM), a program in partnership with DILG IV-A has been marked as one of the innovative programs targeted to capacitate local government officials.
The second nomination came from the Center for Constitutional Reform/Office of the Undersecretary for Plans, Public Affairs and Communication (OUSPPAC) led by Usec. Jonathan Malaya and Chief Project Officer Pamela Carbonell.
Dr. Lizan E. Perante-Calina as Dean accepted the award on behalf of the Academy during the Capacity Development Accelerator Awards 2021: Gabi ng Pasasalamat held on December 21, 2021, 6:00 PM at The Manila Hotel. In her acceptance speech, Dr. Perante-Calina delightfully thanked the DILG for the successful collaboration the two institutions had for the past 20 months.
The event recognized all of DILG’s partners who have served as catalysts of excellence in their respective fields.
